Hi!

Nowadays, I am trying to setup my documents again for my thesis.
while using "pn-filter", there is always a problem as "NO PN
observation segments".

What should be the cause of problem?

Dear Ozdem Sengul,

 pn-filter is described under
http://xmm.esac.esa.int/sas/current/doc/pn-filter/index.html

The message you report indicates that no pn events file is present or that it
contains no data. You can check whether the observation you are analyzing has pn
data taken. Then, you need to run epproc or epchain in order to produce a
calibrated events file, and this events file needs to be located in the same
directory from where you launch pn-filter:
http://xmm.esac.esa.int/sas/current/doc/pn-filter/node5.html
Also, the environment variable SAS_DIR needs to be defined.

I tested with an observation and found that it worked if the events file is
named according to
P??????????PNS???PIEVLI????.FIT

Please also have a look at:
http://xmm.esac.esa.int/sas/current/doc/pn-filter/node3.html
for more information.

 Best regards,
Jan-Uwe
