Dear Ignacio,

I am getting the following error after running mos-spectra using the
command : mos-spectra prefix="1S001"
caldb=/media/ECFB-B220_/XMM-Newton/caldb-download/ccf/constituents/extras/esas_caldb

mask=1 elow=200 ehigh=8500 ccd1=1 ccd2=1 ccd3=1 ccd4=1 ccd5=1 ccd6=1 ccd7=1

** backscale::arfgen: error (UnknownAlgoId), OLd ALGOID 2in EmosRedist
construction please update your CCF
** rmfgen: error (UnknownAlgoId), OLd ALGOID 2in EmosRedist construction
please update your CCF

I suppose the caldb to be used here is the esas_caldb file.
while this error is related to the sas ccf drectory ($SAS_CCFPATH). How am I
suppose to update the CCF directory?

I have downloaded the CCF again from
http://xmm.vilspa.esa.es/external/xmm_sw_cal/calib/ccf.shtml using rsync
but still I am getting the same errors

Dear Kiran,

Please be aware that there is an important update for ESAS. A SAS patch has
recently being released. You can find more information at:

http://xmm.esac.esa.int/sas/current/sas_news.shtml

in particular,

http://xmm.esac.esa.int/sas/11.0.0/documentation/releasenotes/xmmsas_11.0.1.shtml

This however has nothing to do with your error and you might have downloaded
the update already.

Regarding your error, if you have downloaded the latest CCFs and updated
the esas_caldb (see link above), make sure that you run again the SAS
command cifbuild before running mos-spectra again. If you want to be on the
safe side, you might want to produce again your event files with the right
ccf.cif file.

Regards,

Ignacio de la Calle
