I received the email link to my tar file of proprietary data.

Clicking on that link, I was asked once for my archive name and password, which
I assumed was the same name/password that I used to get access to my data in the
archive.

I then was shown an HTTP Status 401 - page with the error
type: status report
message:
description: This request requires HTTP authentication
Apache Tomcat/8.0.23

an attempt from another machine gave the same result. It is possible I munged my
password, but it allows no further attempts.

The password is correct because I see there was a login today in your account. I
am
asking the developers what could be the problem and I will come back to you
asap.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Dear Megan,

Here is the reply by the developer:

...............
"After checking the logs it seems that at 15:28 an ok password was used for
downloading a file through ftp:

Tue Feb 05 15:28:29 CET 2019
Authenticating user donahue
Password OK? -> true

But it is true that 7 minutes later there were three errors in the
authentication.

Tue Feb 05 15:36:07 CET 2019n
Authenticating user donahue
Password OK? -> false

Sometimes if the password is introduced wrongly when accessing the ftp, the
password is stored wrongly in the browser. Please clean the browser cache, or
use another browser, in order to have the browser asking for the password (a new
window in the same browser or a browser restart would not help). Use for the ftp
the same XSA password."
..............

Please inform us if the problem persist.

Best regards,
----

Dear Nora -

It was very odd functionality, The link only gave me one chance to guess th=
e password then always routed me to the
401 error page after that, on Firefox and Safari.

I eventually got it to work by both clearing the cookies associated with *x=
sa* and then fully quitting the
browser, then clicking on the link again and this time entering the passwor=
d with no mistakes.

I have my data now, thank you for your help.

- Megan
