Dear XMM User's Group,

I'm trying to complete the phase II of my proposal, but I'm not sure what
Optical Spectral Type is more appropriate for my target: 1H 0323+342, a
narrow-line Seyfert 1 with a blazar-like behaviour. Please let me know. Thanks
in advance.

Kind Regards,

Filippo

Dear Filippo,

The Optical Spectral Type and magnitude in the XRPS form are used to estimate
and prevent optical loading in the EPIC cameras. Since AGN are typically too
faint to produce any optical loading, these parameters are usually irrelevant.
In these cases, we just suggest to follow a conservative approach.

Best regards,
Jacobo
