Subject: Box region, evselect / ds9

Hi, I've been extracting EPIC spectra from "box" regions with the following
expression:

expression='#XMMEA_EM&&(box(X0,Y0,a,b,ang,X,Y))'

Could you confirm that "ang" is the same value that appears in the "box" region
created by ds9? I found that the ds9 box region gives the full width of the box
in X and Y directions (i.e., A and B), while evselect requires half widths
(i.e., a = A/2 and b=B/2) -->

Dear Alberto Petriella,

 the definition of the parameters of allowed region expressions are given
under:
https://xmm-tools.cosmos.esa.int/external/sas/current/doc/selectlib/node15.html

ds9 allows saving regions in various formats and it depends on which format you
chose to save the region file in.

Best wishes,
Jan-Uwe Ness
