Hello,

I've looked at data from Rev 3097, ObsID 0793183001. In the pn data, at the
bottom left, there is an off-axis bright source which is Cyg OB2 8a : strangely,
the pn filtered event file (grade 0-4, flag 0) seen in ds9 has a black cross in
the middle of the source (looks like 5 pixels masked). The spectrum seems
normal, though. Note that the source is also far from pile-up.

Are data ok nevertheless ?

Regards,
Yael Naze

Dear Yael,

The five pixels have been flagged as bad by the processing, the central one as
'Bright pixel', the four other as 'Close to Bright Pixel'.

The extracted spectrum should be right, as the effective area (the areascal
parameter) handles correctly these cases.

In any case, there is a procedure to bring back 'Bad pixels' to the filtered
event list, see
