Subject: merging RGS data?
Full_Name: Dirk Grupe
Submission from: (NULL) (140.254.79.156)

Is there an XMMSAS task that allows to merge RGS event files. For the EPIC
detectors there is the task 'merge', but I don't think this works with RGS data.
However, is there a way to merge RGS event files too?

Dear Dirk,

No, there is not any SAS task especially designed for merging RGS event files.

The general purpose task 'evlistcomb' can do it, but it is of little use, as it
cannot "merge" the exposure maps, and therefore 'rgespectrum' cannot be used in
this merged event file.
