 I am an m.sc students and i am doing a project on x-ray binaries. while
generating the response matrix an error occur.

Dear Lamattihun,

From your email it looks like you are trying to create a response matrix for
RGS. While it is possible to reduce RGS spectra manually it is advisable (and
simpler) to do it in one go by just executing rgsproc.

The data analysis thread where the RGS data reduction is explained can be found
here:

https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/xmm-newton/sas-thread-rgs

Could you please repeat your analysis just by executing rgsproc and let us know
if your problem persists?
