Subject: OM grism data
Hi,

I have relatively old UV grism data (obtained in January 2001) that I 
have still not analyzed due to the lack of SAS tasks to redude such data.

Are such tasks planned to exist in the next SAS version?

Is their any "unofficial" way to treat these data now? In the XMM 
helpdesk (message  OM/5504), you said that an IDL 
tool, developed by MSSL, exists but I do not find it in the OM MSSL web 
page. Do you have any news of it?

Dear Dr. Petrucci,

The tasks for reducing UV grism data will be available in next
SAS version (v. 6.0), due for July 2003.

In the mean time OM calibration scientists are writing a set of
instructions for reducing the data manually. That will be placed
on the XMM-Newton Web page and should be available by the end
of next month.
