Hello

I have downloaded the reduced calibration files RED_CCF_16_05_2013.7z for the
virtual machine of SAS. I extracted this file by 7za, but there are still left
few folders that are archived in .gz format, like mos2-sp-tot.fits.gz and so
on. Should I also extract those files?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Nino,

note that fits.gz files are compressed fits file, not really tarballs, and
SAS/heasoft should be able to deal with them as they are.

Nevertheless, if you find any problem do not hesitate to contact us.

Pedro
