Hi all,
An XMM event file usually contains only X,Y,RAWX,RAWY, differently from e.g.
Chandra, Swift and Fermi fits files.
I need to obtain an XMM fits file containing the RA,DEC coordinates of the
photons (and all the other standard columns).
ecoordconv can be used only on image files, merge is not useful.. I don't know
what tool is able to do this.

Hi Martino,

thanks for contacting us; I discussed your ticket with our SAS task developers
and received the following answer:

As far as we can see we do not currently have any tool in the SAS to add RA, DEC

columns into the output event file. There doesn't seem to be an ftool to do it 
either, which is more surprising as there is nothing XMM specific about this.

The only recommendation that we hence can suggest to you currently is
to write a small script, e.g. in IDL, that does the job for you.
