Subject: A question about the image generated from the "image script"

Submission from: (NULL) (59.41.252.229)

Dear Dr,
A filtered image in 0.3-8.0keV band was created by using the "image script"
from the SAS Thread. I want to obtain the 0.3-8.0keV intensity contours from
this filtered image. But I don't know what is the unit of "value fields" in the
information panel of the DS9 GUI. Is it cts/s/arcmin^2 or kev/s/arcmin^2?
Thanks. Hoping your reply. Best Wishes!
         Jin.

Dear Jin Wang,

First of all, apologies for the delay in the answer, but yesterday was a local
holiday.

The units of the quantity that appear in the "value" field in ds9 are
counts/pixel.
If you have not changed the default parameters when running the 'images' script,
the size of the pixel is 2 arcsec.

I hope this answers your question.
