Dear Diego,

I asked a Calibration scientist about this and he said that is a low ener=
gy noise.
Please find attached his images with the unfiltered event list (left),
the low energy noise (PI<300eV, middle) and without this low
energy noise (PI>300eV, right). Still without any other selection
applied. Just from this quick look, the EPIC-pn timing mode exposure
looks fine to him.

Similar for EPIC-MOS2, as soon as the low energy noise is removed and
FLAG filtering applied, the image looks reasonable, column RAWX=3D275
appears as bright at lower energies PI<600eV and should be excluded for
corresponding analysis.

Best regards,

Nora

Dear Diego,

The ODF are considered ready, only need to be filtered and calibrated. I =
will
ask the experts if this can be just the effect of a bad pixel.
Did you analyse both PN exposures?, and MOS2?

Cheers,

Nora
