Would you be so kind and explain the names of rmf files for MOS?
The explanation provided is that the name is
  m<camera><ccd>_<version>_<mode>_<patterns>_<start_date>.rmf
Whilst the files for download have names like
  m1_110_im_pall.rmf.gz

How can I figure out what file can I use for my observation taken 2004-02-22 ??

Thanks, Lidia

Dear Lidia,

The naming of MOS canned response matrices has recently changed
and we have not yet updated the documentation on our web pages.
Sorry about that. It should be corrected soon.

The meaning of the current names is as follows:

m1_110_im_pall.rmf.gz

m1 stands for MOS1 instrument
110 is the first XMM-Newton revolution number for which this file
should be used. The last revolution number is given by the start
revolution of the next file in the sequence (e.g. next rmf is
     m1_169_im_p0.rmf.gz)
im means that the rmf is for imaging mode
p0 means for pattern 0 only ('pall' for patterns 0 to 12)

Best regards,
Michel G. Breitfellner
