Subject: CCF files
Hello,

The archival data sets contain only PPS and ODF files. Following the
XMM Data Analysis cookbook, I need a set of CCF files to generate a
spectrum. Your calibration website suggests ftp'ing from
xmm.vilspa.esa.es/pub/ccf/constituents. Howerver, there are around 226
files in this directory. I am looking at MOS1/MOS2/PN data only. Can you
suggest which subset of these files do I need to download.

Many thanks in advance.

Walid Majid

Dear Walid,

You may want to check our web page
http://xmm.vilspa.esa.es/external/xmm_sw_cal/calib/cifbuild.shtml to sort out
the actual CCF constituents to process your data.

The safest procedure is to get all the files from our server. If indeed you only
will process EPIC data, you may want to try not to download files whose names
start with OM or RGS.

Sincerely,

Pedro
