Hello, Help Desk

I want to know how to get the parameter of PSF(ELLBETA) when running arfgen if a
point source is located at off axis angle between 0 to 3 arcmin. Calibration
file (e.g. XRT2_XPSF_0014.CCF) has off axis angle dependency 3 arcmin step. I
guess that it is linearly interpolated.

Hello,

you are right, parameters are stored at 3 arcmin intervals and the code LINEARLY
interpolates between these values. Similarly, the parameters are stored at a
number of discrete photon energies and these are linearly interpolated as well.

Hello, 

I have another question. When calculating encircled energy fraction with arfgen
(point source), can pixels located outside field of view are set as if alive? I
guess that ...badpixcorr=flase... meet that requirement.

Hi,

for the treatment of bad pixels and CCD gaps you may want to see

Note that badpixelresolution parameter can modify the resolution that the
program uses for the calculations.
