Dear Sai Zhai,

Many thanks for telling us about your status and affiliation - this is
appreciated.

Could you, please, provide us with the following information (i.e. send us the
mysassetup.log file)?

sasversion >& mysassetup.log
uname -a >> mysassetup.log
env >> mysassetup.log

Also, please, which is the exact rsync call that you are issuing?

I assume you already had a look at
http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/xmm-newton/current-calibration-files
to check which rsync options are need to download the CCF?

Kind regards,
Lucia

Dear Dr Lucia Ballo...

Thanks for your help!

I am so sorry that it's my first time to use SAS.

Do you mean that i send you the 'mysassetup.log' file.. which is already
in my computer,or i run the code like 'sasversion' in the terminal and
gather the information?

So i will send you two files:

'mysassetup.log'.. and 'sassetup.log', the last one contains the
information you might need.

And i tried to synchronise with the*Valid CCF Set: *

 1.

    rsync -v -a --delete --delete-after --force --include='*.CCF'
    --exclude='*/' xmm.esac.esa.int::XMM_VALID_CCF /ccf/

Really appreciate your help...

Best regards.

Sai Zhai

Dear Sai Zhai,

Thank you for sending me the information.

From your log file, I see that you are actually pointing SAS to use a CCF
repository installed in:

SAS_CCFPATH = /media/ashley/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF

Could you please try to rsync against this directory, i.e. using:

  rsync -v -a --delete --delete-after --force --include='*.CCF' --exclude='*/'
xmm.esac.esa.int::XMM_VALID_CCF
/media/ashley/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF

Indeed, it is possible that the directory /ccf/ that you gave in your original
command does not exist or is not write accessible to you. Could you please check
it?

Kind regards,
Lucia

Dear Dr Lucio Ballo=EF=BC=8C

Thanks for helping me!

I checked the directory and I found that '/media/ashley' was change to=20
'/mnt/'(It's in the WINDOWS partition, because my LINUX partition has no=20
more space)

.BUT i don't why it changed!!! Could you please tell me how it changed!

Then i rsync against the '/mnt/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF',=20
it seems that problem was solved.

The result is that:

/rsync -v -a --delete-after --force --include=3D'*.CCF'=20
--exclude=3D'*/'xmm.esac.esa.int::XMM_VALID_CCF=20

As far as I know, both /media and /mnt are directories for temporary
mounting/removable media.
Perhaps you can ask a colleague or a system administrator for further
assistance.

We are glad we could help you with that.
Now, please remember that you have to change the CCF repository path
accordingly:

- if the directory is mounted as
/media/ashley/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF
you need to set:
SAS_CCFPATH = /media/ashley/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF

- if the directory is mounted as
/mnt/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF
you need to set:
SAS_CCFPATH = /mnt/92AEA54FAEA52D23/junior/explorehigh/CCF

You should not worry about them, as you are not allowed to write into our
server.

With kind regards,
