Dear xmmhelp

Could you tell me official accuracy of derived flux of EPIC  
instruments(pn/mos1/mos2)?
I am analyzing diffuse sources, SNRs, using sas-task, rmfgen and arfgen  
with DET-coordinated source map.
I have met some difficult problem that the flux derived from pn is  
about 20% smaller than MOS1/MOS2.
Is it natural or is there some mistakes by me?
I extracted the spectral about 10arcmin x 7arcmin box. Is it too large  
to consider the vignetting function precisely?

Dear Junko Hiraga, 

You current status of EPIC calibration is described in
http://xmm.vilspa.esa.es/docs/documents/CAL-TN-0018-2-1.pdf . However, we expect
to have an update of this document, with special emphasis on cross-calibration,
by early June.

Flux differences of 20% are somewhat larger than the differences reported in the
above document, though such differences might depend on the actual spectral
shape of the source.

10arcminx7arcmin should not be a major problem for vignetting correction, but
note that such correction (specially for large off-axis angles) has been
improved in the latest SAS release (SAS6.0.0)
