Subject: XMM pointing performance
After looking through the various calibration documents at
http://xmm.vilspa.esa.es/external/xmm_sw_cal/calib/documentation.shtml,
I am unable to find any documentation on the pointing performance of XMM.
Would you please point me to the relevant document?

Many thanks in advance,
Joel Kastner

Dear Dr. Kastner,

Please look at the following document:

EPIC Calibration Status (Apr 2003)
http://xmm.vilspa.esa.es/docs/documents/CAL-TN-0018-2-1.pdf
page 4

Dear Michel,

Thanks, this is helpful. I'm curious: does this information on on-orbit
XMM absolute astrometric accuracy appear in any other document? Has it
been published anywhere in the recent astronomical literature? Reason
being, I'm working on a paper on our results for Mira, and the astrometry
is very important.

Thanks again,
Joel

Dear Joel,

According to our calibration people the best documentation
about XMM pointing performance is as I told you already:

EPIC Calibration Status (Apr 2003)
http://xmm.vilspa.esa.es/docs/documents/CAL-TN-0018-2-1.pdf
page 4

There are no plans to publish this information anywhere else.

With best regards,

OK, thanks very much for looking into this for me.

Cheers,
Joel
