Hello!

I am trying to figure out how to request the discretionary time for
unanticipated, high-impact transient observations. Also, I would like to know
what details do I need to submit along with such a request and the shortest and
typical turn-around times for such a request to be granted/executed since the
transient is fading rapidly.A%A%%0%0haha y y%2!

Dear Pradip Gatkine

First of all, apologies for the delay in the answer. We have been experiencing
problems with our mail system, and some mails have been delayed.

Discretionary time has to be requested through the "ToO Ailert" page

https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/xmm-newton/too-alert

where you have to provide a short scientific justification.

The request is then sent to the Project Scientist, who may consult with one of
the OTAC members.

Hope this information is still useful,

Regards
