Subject: RPS form AO15: multiple TOO & joint observations
Full_Name: Jelle Kaastra
Submission from: (NULL) (192.87.213.35)

I try to prepare an RPS form with multiple TOO targets, of which only one will
be triggered/observed. According to the new instructions, I need to specify the
XMM exposure only for the first potential target, and can keep it zero for
subsequent targets. That part works fine. However, I also request joint
observations with another facility. If I fill in zero exposure time for the
joint facility for the subsequent targets, I get a complaint at the verify stage
that zero exposure is not allowed for the joint facility; however, if I fill in
the exposure time for each target, the total exposure for the joint facility
appearing on the RPS form is too high, namely the number of targets times the
individual exposure time, rather than 1 x the individual exposure time. Is there
a solution to this problem, and what do you recommend to do?

Dear Jelle,

please, mark as Joint Proposal: YES only the first observation (the one with the
requested XMM time) and fill in here the details of the other facilities. In all
other observations where XMM exposure time is set to zero you should also set
Joint Proposal: NO .
