XMM-Newton Science Analysis System
Data collected by the XMM-Newton observatory can (and partly must) be reduced and analyzed through an extensive suite of software tools: the Science Analysis System (SAS).The current SAS version is 8.0.0, released on 2 July 2008.

They are designed to contain all the information you need, to learn how to install, update, use SAS, and evaluate the scientific results you get. Before you start surfing through them, you may want to have a look at a very concise SAS description.
